Is it possible?

My brain is convulsing over the infinite number of posts that must be read in an attempt to find answers.

So here are my basic requirements. Please comment on where, if anywhere, this can happen living/retiring in Panama:

1. We would rent and need it furnished with a kitchen, even if small, with a refrigerator, stove, pots/pans/tableware/utensils, etc, and prefer two bedrooms, but one can do as long as there is a roomy living area and, of course, a beautiful outdoors.
2. Cool, fairly consistent mountain temperature, about 70's to 80's (F) daytime. Captivating views are preferable, a place where we can go outside and quietly and peacefully reflect as we ponder the panoramic beauty.
3. Fairly reliable internet. I understand it can go out and be slow at times. I can handle that as long as I can occasionally get on and upload/download large files of several hundred MB's when it's working regardless of how long it takes.
4. Need to live on +/- $1350 for two, all costs including rent. I am 62. I understand there are "pensionado-like" benefits, i.e., some discounts just for being over 60 even without the pensionado visa.
5. Accessible by bus. We will not get a car—perhaps a scooter or bikes.

Factors to consider:
1. Language is not a problem. My wife is fluent and I will be at least conversant.
2. We will purchase and eat local food, little red meat—mostly chicken, cook mostly at home.
3. We do not need a “lively” social life. Making a few new friends, local or English speaking, will do. We would live simply, happy to be without all the “stuff” that accompanies life in the U.S.
4. Optional: A nice beach with golf in the area, accessible by bus within 2-3 hours.
5. Optional: Waterfalls.
6. Optional: DirecTV, which I understand is available throughout much of Panama (I would hate to suffer NFL withdrawal).
7. We are prepared to visit for a few weeks to check out your recommendations.

I am aware there are many more considerations—proximity to transportation, airports, hospitals, markets, visa status, etc. We need to start with these basics and deal with remaining issues after all you gracious folks help us determine if the above is possible.

With much appreciation,

Paul
