What is it like to retire in Puerto Rico?

There is a significant expat community, particularly of retirees from the United States, given Puerto Rico's status as a U.S. territory. Cultural attractions abound, from the historic forts of Old San Juan to the vibrant art scene. Recreation opportunities are plentiful, with golf, fishing, and water sports being popular activities. The nightlife in Puerto Rico is lively, with numerous bars, clubs, and restaurants offering a variety of entertainment options. Retirement in Ecuador can be a unique and rewarding experience. The country is known for its diverse landscapes, from the Andes Mountains to the Amazon Rainforest, and the Pacific Coast. There is a growing expat community in Ecuador, particularly in cities like Cuenca and Quito, where retirees are drawn by the affordable cost of living and high quality of life. Cultural attractions include historic colonial architecture, indigenous markets, and a rich culinary scene.
