The city, known as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines," offers a cool climate, beautiful landscapes, and a relaxed pace of life that many retirees find appealing. There is a growing expat community in Baguio, with retirees from various countries, particularly the United States, Japan, and South Korea. This community often organizes social events and activities, providing a sense of camaraderie and support. Culturally, Baguio City is rich and diverse. The city is home to several museums, art galleries, and cultural centers that showcase the history and heritage of the region. The BenCab Museum, Ili-Likha Artists Village, and the Baguio Museum are popular cultural attractions. The city also hosts the annual Panagbenga or "Flower Festival," a month-long celebration featuring float parades, street dancing, and garden shows. For recreation, Baguio City offers a wide range of activities. The city is surrounded by mountains and pine forests, making it a perfect place for hiking, biking, and picnicking.
