"The cost of living in Whitianga is considered moderate. Housing is relatively affordable compared to larger cities in New Zealand, but still more expensive than many places worldwide. The cost of groceries and dining out is also moderate, with fresh produce and local seafood being quite affordable. Utilities such as electricity, heating, cooling, and internet are on the higher end, similar to the rest of the country. Transportation costs are relatively low, especially if you own a car, as public transportation options are limited. Health care is generally affordable, especially for residents as New Zealand has a public healthcare system. Overall, the cost of living in Whitianga is balanced by the high quality of life and beautiful natural surroundings," remarked one expat in Whitianga.
