What advice do you have for expats having a baby in Fujairah?
We asked expat moms who gave birth in Fujairah about their experiences and advice they have for other moms to be. They said...
"Firstly, it's important to understand the healthcare system in Fujairah. The city has a number of well-equipped hospitals and clinics, but it's crucial to ensure that you have adequate health insurance to cover all medical costs. Secondly, you should familiarize yourself with the local customs and traditions related to childbirth. The UAE has a rich cultural heritage and it's important to respect these traditions, even if they differ from your own. Thirdly, it's advisable to find a good obstetrician or midwife who you feel comfortable with. They should be able to guide you through the pregnancy and childbirth process, and provide you with all the necessary information and support. Fourthly, consider taking prenatal classes. These can be a great way to prepare for the birth of your child, and they can also provide a valuable opportunity to meet other expectant parents in the Fujairah community. Fifthly, make sure you understand the legal requirements for having a baby in the UAE. This includes registering the birth and obtaining a birth certificate. Lastly, remember to take care of your own health and wellbeing during this time. Pregnancy and childbirth can be physically and emotionally demanding, so it's important to eat well, get plenty of rest, and take time to relax and enjoy this special time in your life," said a member in Fujairah, the UAE.
