What do I need to know before moving to Sharjah?
When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Sharjah, they said...
"Before moving to Sharjah, expats should be aware that the city is a dry city, meaning that the sale and consumption of alcohol is prohibited. Additionally, Sharjah is a conservative city, so visitors should be mindful of local customs and dress modestly. Expats should also be aware that Sharjah is a car-dependent city, so having a car is essential for getting around. Finally, expats should be aware that the cost of living in Sharjah is relatively low compared to other cities in the UAE," wrote a member who made the move to Sharjah, the UAE.
