I've just spent two years in Thailand and Cambodia, They have a three to four month season where the farmers burn their crops, and the air becomes the most polluted and dangerous in the world. I'm wondering if this is a problem in Columbia.
In reference to Cali, Colombia, I would like to make some additions. I have resided in Cali for five years after retiring in the USA and married a Caleña.. Yes there are advantages living in Cali or other parts of Colombia, namely the cost of living ( food and housing), maybe the climate, depending where you are, medical care can be very good, very much depending on the facility. The number one negative is crime. According to the UN statistics, in 2018 Cali was ranked 27th in the world for homicides, followed closely by Palmira (just north of Cali). When walking through any neighborhood you must have your wits about you. The entire east side of Cali is to be avoided unless you are looking for trouble. Theft is quite common. Even in the best of neighborhoods you cannot leave anything unattended because it will be gone in seconds. People are friendly and have good manners typically, unless they are behind the wheel of a car or motorcycle, Then they are no longer nice people.
