US expat in Frankfurt

Hey everybody! I am a 28 year old US expat who recently moved to Frankfurt. I had previoulsy been in Turin, Italy, and my company decided to transfer me to Frankfurt. I have been here for about a month now. I have gotten pretty much settled into my apartmen (in Nordend), and I have had a whopping 2 weeks of German lessons. So, it is safe to say that my German is pretty poor.

I am basically writting this message to find out things to do in Frankfurt. I don't want to turn into a shut in....the type of guy who just goes to work during the day and remains in his apartment during the night. Some of my Italian friends are here, so I usually go out with them. But, I am looking to see if there are any US expat clubs/groups that get together and go out or just kick back. Oh yea...if anyone knows where I can play some basketball that would be some great info too!
