Quintanaroo - Rescue Dog looking for a new/ temporary home due to owner illness

Currently in Tulum, but we can travel to meet anyone near-by enough.

Sammy:
Shepard Mix, around 2 years old. Intelligent and good-natured. Agile and loves playing, knows a few cool tricks. He is an intact male, but is not an alpha at all - zero aggression or dominating nature. He gets on well with both male and female dogs. Loves to go out on walks with us - he always stays with the pack even if he is at time way ahead or behind. He doesn´t like leashes and doesn´t need one.

History:
I´m a long-term traveler and I took Sammy from a farm I volunteered at with the intention of finding him a new home. He was on a tight chain which his neck was started to grow into, being fed almost nothing to the point he was so weak he couldn´t walk properly, and at some point beaten badly. He was so attached to me that I couldn´t realistically find a new place for him. We have been on the road together for 1.5 years with zero problems, since he is always so well--behaved.

My situation:
I have been experiencing symptoms of Lyme disease - a complicated illness that needs to be properly diagnosed in specific laboratories overseas. At the same time, I have lost my passport and all other forms of identification and have to return home to get everything reissued before I can travel overseas. I need to do this as soon as possible so I can be receive treatment. I am from Hong Kong originally and there is a 4-month quarantine period for dogs. Given everything, it seems like Sammy and I finally have to separate, even if only for a while. The longest we have been apart has been 1 day, and it has always been difficult for him to him to be separated from me. It´s only with no other option and such urgency that I resort to finding a new place for him.

Ideal home for Sammy:
A farm or a house with a big outdoors space of some sort, with at least another dog. With someone who is willing to do a slow transition from home to home with me to get Sammy use to his new place and carer, with the patience and understanding that Sammy will probably need to change homes.

There is the possibility that I could come and collect Sammy in little as two months, if all parties agreed. And I would be happy to pay all the expenses and extra when I come back to Mexico. But obviously, if I am unable to come back for a longer period and Sammy seems to be happy in his new home, I do understand it would be best for everybody if he stays there.
