Saw another dead body tonight.

So you want to defend Mexico, or the northern Baja, say it's safe, say it's nice, say it's cheap, argue that there is crime all over the world to try and rationalize. Go ahead. I realize tonight that it's OK for you, for all of you to defend whatever you want about Mexico. It comes down to me. Tonight I saw a dead body in a pool of blood, seems like the poor soul was hit by a car in the dark. Some people had stopped. I could not, there was nothing I could do. I cried driving up the road for a bit. Maybe you've seen a lot of dead bodies or a few and it doesn't bother you anymore. That's OK too if that works for you. But, as I've realized, it's not about you, it's about me and how I feel about this new experience of cheapness of life in Mexico. I've gone through my entire life of 50 plus years and never seeing anything horrible, never seeing death and my first year in the northern Baja I have seen two dead people. One was murdered and dumped in the highway as a statement, the other, was tonight on a dark highway, a victim of getting hit by a car. I think it was inevitable though, to see someone killed by the terrible traffic here. People talk about how nice Mexican's are, but all I can see through my tunnel vision glasses is a bunch of people who don't care about the lives of others. I see people that speed up as you turn of the highway because you are going too slow, or they don't like your foreign plates, I see idiots who pass you with cars coming at them because they need to be in front of you at the next set of lights. Have I rambled enough? I think I've seen enough of Mexico. I posted a few weeks ago about being tired of Mexico. I was polite. This country is a pile of crap. That's how I see it. And there is no defense, there is no way to refute that statement, not for the Baja. Maybe there are nice places in Mexico to live, maybe? But I'm not going to trust opinions anymore. Every time someone talks about the Baja being dangerous, the defenders start talking about how dangerous Chicago or L.A. is. Who cares. It comes down to me and what I think and my Mexico experience. I don't want to see that 3rd dead person. I will offer a limited apology for my rant, I am sad, angry and greatly disillusioned.
