Keeping American Cell number, figured out!

Hi Everyone,

I know i haven't been on in a long time. So I used to pay 70 a month to keep my t-mobile phone here and pray t-mobile didn't shut me off. In addition i have a mexican cell. I lost my t-mobile phone and found out there is a much better option if you have a trusted friend in the states.

So I signed up for Google Fi, the 20 a month plan. (not sure what taxes will be) My google fi cell phone sits in a drawer in the united states. I use my google fi service on hangouts via wifi from my tablet and mexican phone and computer. I never bring my physical phone to Mexico no need to since I can use the apps!

So i can place call to the states for free, I get all my texts including from the banks in the USA, the call quality is good. I am not in violation of far usage policy which all usa cell carriers have. As my cell lives in the united states and hits american towers. I am using hangouts which integrates perfectly with fi and I can get my bank texts :)

The reason the friend has to be trusted is they run down grab the sim for 10 bucks, you have to give them you log in information (you can change your passwords later) they log on and activate the phone.

You have to trust this person as they now posses your actual phone that does work.

then you go to google hangouts turn on all the integration and BAM you are up and running here with your current device! This is a solution that worked for me so thought I would share
