2020 Didn’t end well

My husband and I planned to move to Caldas Da Rainha ( haven’t been there, but we planned a month trip first. I was broadsided when he told me YESTERDAY he wants a divorce! Our papers are all ready to submit to the consulate, We have sold all our rather new furniture and purchased smaller Europe appropriate furniture, found a mover. Etc. etc. I can’t afford to live in the U.S. on my income alone AND I just turned 72! Gratefully I am healthily, but I am 72.?? What is the TRUTH that it will take to live a middle class life over there? The U.S. has lost its mind both politically and financially. With all the cost’s you don’t realize till you actually live there, what will it take? I would want a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, ( but I can get by with 1 bath. Location in the middle of the city where I can walk to “everything” necessary, heat and air and an outside balcony or courtyard. If I purchase a flat, 200,000 U.S. max, I will POSSIBLY have a little cash left and $1,700 S.S. monthly, that’s it! I will be completely alone. ?? Can I do this?
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
