A few questions...

I am looking to move, but have a few questions about the visa, moving an online business( not currently producing income at the moment), and also either finding a part time job while there till the self employed work took off.
I also invest, but not sure how that will work towards a visa, if not enough Div's are coming in each month.
My main concern is income, background check and working temporary in order to build up a monthly income.
So far I have not been able to find the spot on info in this forum or on other websites.
I will keep looking through the forums and searching for the answer. Any info would be helpful, so I can get this started within the next few months.

@ theseanachai The guide has errors. The quotes below are from the page you linked. Quotes are followed by the correct info.

"People willing to live in Portugal for at least six months per year."

Wrong. Corrected in the last paragraph below.

"Once your visa has been granted, you have 120 days (4 months) to move to Portugal."

True only if you receive the D7 on the start date of its valid period. Otherwise you have to enter Portugal before the visa expiration date.

"SEF will issue your D7 residence permit; this type of permit is valid for one year."

SEF will issue your residence permit. There are no permits specific to the D7 visa. The initial permit used to be valid for 1 year. Now it's valid for 2 years.

"Portugal recently changed the D7 residence permit period, and many web pages still show the old information."

INCLUDING YOUR WEB SITE!

"After that, you can extend for three years if you still meet the D7 requirements."

Your second and subsequent residence permits will have a 3 year valid period until you receive a permanent residence permit.

"There is a limit to the number of times you can leave Portugal each year."

With a residence permit it's unlimited.

"There is a minimum time you must live in Portugal. In each year you must spend at least four months in the country. In addition, you must not spend more than six consecutive months outside Portugal."

Minimum time you must be in Portugal is per the valid period of your residence permit, NOT per year. During the valid period you can spend 6 consecutive months outside of Portugal, or 8 months total.

Site is in Portuguese. Chrome browser translates.

There's more errors on that on the page, lots more. I wouldn't depend on that page for anything. Use the document cited that's here.

Although the information says it’s up-to-date it’s not very good information on that webpage because they’re still leading people to believe you can get the visa from the home country without having a 12 month contract in place for housing which is required at least out of the San Francisco office with home country being United States to my understanding; their webpage is still making people think you can wait to get to Portugal for that!
