New requirements for residency visa from US (SF office)

Oi!

I have researched countless hours over many months concerning the requirements and even differences between consulate offices in the United States. (which I do not understand how they cannot be uniform) it is very frustrating and confusing at times and of course changes in the law (even since I have began researching) have made it even more difficult to get definitive answers to certain questions.

I will have to get my visa from the San Francisco office. I would love to hear from people that have went to this office in the last 3 to 4 months and how was your experience and what did they require of you?

All answers are greatly appreciated ?? but more specifically

i’m seeking information from persons retired on Social Security:

How long was your temporary visa issued for?

Did you have to show a Portuguese bank account with a total amount of one or two years income or other? or was the award letter showing the passive income (SS) enough?

Were you required to provide a 12 month rental agreement, statement? Other? If variable from this, how so?

How long did it take from your appointment in San Francisco to completion of receiving your visa?

Anything else you would like to provide on your second visit, to the embassy Portugal if that has occurred? I heard they are giving out residency for two years now instead of one?

Lastly were you sent a detailed list of the required documents you were asked to bring that you would mind sharing?

I’m sure there is information within this forum, as is in many other forums and articles on the Internet; however I’m looking for the most updated information and specific to this region from the United States so please indulge me! I promise you I have done my homework ??

Obrigada!
