Is the cost of living in Shimoda high?

We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Shimoda, they wrote:

"The cost of living in Shimoda is considered moderate. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can be quite affordable, while outside the city center, it can be even cheaper. The cost of utilities such as electricity, heating, cooling, water, and garbage is also reasonable. Groceries in Shimoda can be a bit expensive, with items like bread, milk, eggs, fruits, and vegetables costing more than in some other cities. Eating out at an inexpensive restaurant is relatively affordable, but a three-course meal at a mid-range restaurant can be quite pricey. Public transportation in Shimoda is also moderately priced, with monthly passes available for regular commuters. Gasoline prices are relatively high, which can make owning and operating a car more expensive. Healthcare in Shimoda is of high quality and is generally affordable, especially for residents who are covered by Japan's national health insurance system. Overall, while some aspects of living in Shimoda can be expensive, others are quite affordable, making it a viable option for both locals and expats," wrote a person living in Shimoda.
