Just want to share with everyone, that we received our approved visa from embassy in Washington DC today. We submitted our paperwork on July 29th. It took exactly 30 days. The folks at the embassy were extremely helpful and responsive.

It is great to hear that it was so quick! I had heard that it was taking several months for some. Any tips you can share? I am going to PT in late October for my initial scouting trip and then will apply for my Visa on my return. I am in Texas and DC is where I also will be applying. Did you physically go to DC for an interview?

Yes, we made an appointment and traveled to Washington DC.
I believe the key to having a smooth and quick process is to have all of your documentation and forms filled out and properly certified and signed before submitting them. We worked with an attorney in Portugal, she helped us with filling out the forms and also crafting the necessary documents.

hello, if you would be so inclined, could you DM me with your attorney contact info? With the growing crush of those leaving the US and impacts on Portugal immigration/consulates, I would like to have proper representation (site monitors: please do not inundate me with your anti-attorney viewpoints, I understand that things can be handled "on mine own", thanks).
