"The cost of living in Umhlanga, is considered relatively high compared to other parts of the country. This is due to its status as a popular tourist destination and affluent residential area. Housing is the most significant expense, with prices for both rentals and property purchases being quite high. The cost of groceries, dining out, and general entertainment is also above average. However, utilities such as electricity, water, and internet are relatively affordable. Transportation costs can vary, depending on whether one uses public transport or owns a vehicle. Despite the higher cost of living, many residents feel that the quality of life, safety, and beautiful surroundings in Umhlanga make it worth the expense," said one expat in Umhlanga.
