Ecuador Emergency

I noticed the outstanding thread on the other section of this forum about emergencies in Ecuador.

Several years ago a family from the U.S. living on the coast of Ecuador became victims of a home invasion. After the event a family member sought help by contacting friends on Facebook that lived in the area and were able to help contact authorities ect.

At that time I envisioned possibly making a network on Facebook for expats to help, disseminate and share information regarding safety and security. Also, the group has been established to help communicate when there are emergencies when someone may need assistance.

Anyone may join and there is no commercial interest in the group. We also are always looking for volunteers to help in posting ect during times of emergency and also be willing to share information either on FB or via telephone or email. We are now over 600 members strong.
