An Expat Talks about Living in Living in Ecuador a few weeks will re assure you. Many foreigners have made the move and are still there. Many moved to Ecuador, stayed years, then left. They intended to stay forever but didn't. Why? because of questions they didn't ask and could not have answered in the beginning. Will I miss the culture and people I left so much I'd have to go back? Will the new culture be something I can't handle? I'd say five years would be needed to answer the BIG question. The little ones, rent, food, language, transport, etc.....can be answered early and easily. Those answers are all positive, in my evaluation. The reality of Ecuador doesn't make or break a person's resolve to stay in Ecuador. The person they are, strengths and limits, determines that. We turn the litmus red or blue by our true selves, not Ecuador. So go to Ecuador. It's a nice place for long and short stays., Ecuador
