Hi, first post here. Patricio in Florida. I visited Ecuador close to 20 years ago and was impressed. Now am interested in re-visiting with a view to possible permanent/trial move there. Couple of off the wall questions: 1) Are personal firearms able to be legally shipped into Ecuador with household goods for a move? 2) I have no experience on shipping household goods, pots, pans, clothes, bedding, lamps, books, for example. Are these shipped by air, ship on a container, is this major hassle with immigration and loss issues and tips on finding same? 3) what are round-trip airfare estimates for retirees between Miami and anyplace in Ecuador? 4) when buying a used SUV or small pickup there is 4WD a neciessity or a good idea if doing driving around the country but not off-roading?
Thanks in advance, please chime in with anything related to stuff I may not have thought of. Like I said just signed on and am excited where this might take me! Please respond.
