Fifteen months and 60+ pounds ago...

One of the biggest changes in my life since I came to Ecuador is there is now 30% less of me.

I joined the South Beach Diet Online in April 09 so I would English speakers to gripe at. Helps to have support and I had dropped 20 pounds with the program in '04 befor a car accident and some other life changing experiences -- which lead me to Ecuador. SBD is not a no-carb diet, it's a no -crap diet that suggests an eating plan similar to a Mediterranean style of eating: with whole grains, heart healthy oils, nuts, lean meat, chicken and plenty fish as well as fruits, vegetables and beans and low fat dairy. Sugar, white flour and processed foods and white rice, etc. are limited. And since the diet is created by a preventative cardiologist small amounts of heart healthy wine and dark chocolate are also included.

So now I have gone from a BMI of 38.6 to a 25.9 which is seriously obese to slightly overweight and am very pleased.

Having always been overweight (I was born a size 14) I can truly say I have never been this healthy, and this happy with my body, in my life.

Thinking I should get one of those Ecuador es Mejor! Blue/Yellow/Red thumbprints they put on our Made In Ecuador products ~ tatooed to my hip ;) ...after I loose the last 20 pounds ...hmmm...we'll see.
