WOW,

There is a gringo who ALLEGEDLY ran a scam bilking fellow grass is greener gringos in a small town North of Manta.
One poor Oregon couple handed over 40 thousand hard earned dollars, never to be seen again,a wink and a promise later.NADA absolutely NADA

YEAH SOME GRINGO SHARKS CIRCLE AROUND ECUADOREAN WATERS
BUYER BEWARE
NOT ALL GRINGO FRIENDLIES ARE ON THE UP AND UP.
yes buyer be very beware
THE MORAL OF THE STORY,
DO YOUR HOMEWORK
TAKE YOUR TIME
KEEP A TIGHT CLUTCH ON YOUR DOLLAR UNTIL YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH IS SAFE AND SOUND, TRIED AND TRUE.
CLEAN AS A WHISTLE
PURE AS THE DRIVEN SNOW
YOU ALL GET THE POINT
There are good gringo guys out there in Ecuador too.
happy searching
happy taking the leap

Realistically we are talking about a handful of scams in Ecuador versus mega scams in uncle scamsland the mini madoff types who walk the streets as though life is good because for them it is.They will never be held accountable.
Sorry Bill and other holdouts of apple pie and old glory.

Hey I still like apple pie. ILA is so correct. Research is the key. If it is too good to be true .... beware and listen to that voice in your head. There is very little recourse in EC if you fall victim to a scam. Gringos are targeted because most have money and no family ties so there is little fear of reprisal.

Zeus894,
I am not seeing your point .Even if the profiteer was Ecuadorean and not gringo, even if the LOST investment amount was $7000 and not a gazillion, somebody was allegedly TAKEN and therefore their hard earned cash vamoosed.
The point being made is and has been.
BUYER BEWARE.
VERY MUCH SO.
The facts are, he says, she says.how would accuracy ever be determined, unless you were one of the participants.
