Looking around to move and restart my business...

To be blunt, as a service disabled vet and small business owner, the USA is just going in a direction that is no longer acceptable for me. At 42 I am working 80+ hours a week with my wife working and all we hear is we need to do more for others. I have a small spray foam insulation/roofing and polyurea coatings business and would like to restart it somewhere in South/Central America but have no real idea on how tenable the idea is and if I can even open a business as an expat in most countries. I know in some you are allowed to own it but not WORK in it which would be a problem. It is almost impossible to start something like this unless you work it for a while since it isn’t just grab the equipment, spend 30 minutes learning and go.
The other trick is if there is even a market for these things in the country so I am looking around. We do plan to take a few weeks to go down anyplace and hopefully meet some expats and find out about things and how they REALLY are instead of just the tourist bits. Also we have at least one teen and one due in October so basics like schools are also being taken in to the equation.
So what is the small business climate like, schools, are you able to work your business or just own and manage it and has anyone seen anything on these products being used there? That gives me a starting point on which countries to look at and yes, you may see this exact same post in a couple of other areas for countries so I can start the process. :-D
