seeking expats who live in equador, I am contemplating moveing to equador in the near future and would like to speak to anyone currently living there as to how to go about it, I have been looking at equador for some time now and have noticed the prices of real estate have been going up, I am looking for something close to the beach ideally on the side of a hill or mountain overlooking the pacific, my total monthly income would be about 2600.00 dollars , I am given to understand living costs are low but the prices I see for real estate have gone up substansilly since I started looking at equador, are their still any bargains to be had in property? is there a culture shock involved in living there? how is the infrastructure ? are the roads decent? do I use the same kind of electric plugs for my computer and tv as I am used to in the states, is the electricity grid stable, is the water safe to drink? so many questions I have for someone who has boots on the ground there. What is the best time of the year to visit equador, we were thinking of April of this year for a 3 week visit to tour the country and get a idea of where we might like to settle.
