Hello all.
I have been reading this blog for some time now, and have learned a lot. My rash decision to move down last year was tempered by the advice I received then, and I did take it all to heart. But, ky time has come and I have put all of my affairs in order. I am coming to visit as advised, but I am bringing all I needed for the visas in case I wish to stay. So, I will be flying from Charlotte to Cuenca on Monday and I don't know the flight details yet because I will book it on Friday to save about $500-600. I have set things up so that I will not have to leave if I do not want to, and that I can return if I decide I should. That should cover all my bases. I have also paid off every single debt I have here so that I might have the freedom to just not worry once I am there. That choice pretty well tapped me out but it was worth it. I am 49 come April and I'm retired.. well, I'm a disabled vet and have a comfortable income even for here, so it will be easy to save a lot quickly there.. but that is certainly not my motivation for moving. So, I hope to meet others once in Cuenca and maybe get steered in a good direction. Thanks to all for any advice I may receive.
