An Article Link on Salinas for Consideration

An associate of mine sent me the following article today (cut n' paste):

I find it interesting because one of our own from this forum site is mentioned. I also found it interesting because one quote caught my attention, in discussing Salinas:

"The draw: Miami living without Miami prices."

As most regulars already know, I am involved in the real estate industry, including Salinas. I would love to foster this illusion, as it would likely help my business/industry. One problem - it is utter nonsense. Salinas and Miami are about as different as night and day, whether one talks weather, cultural options, or scale of lifestyle opportunities. Sure, with a lot of effort and new local leadership, Salinas could resemble a "trace of Miami" in 10-20 years, but for now - and many would be thankful for it - barring a few crazy weeks per year, we are more sleepy hamlet...than teeming Miami Metro. Anyone who comes to Salinas chasing "South Beach lite" dreams is likely to go home disappointed...at least...at present and for the foreseeable future. Realistic expectations, I have found, are the best barometer as to one's success in relocating to Salinas, or anywhere in Ecuador...or around the world.

ps. To those who keep asking, I will be posting on about a dozen comments, sometime in the next week or so. Just don't have the time right now.
