Regarding our Welcome Forum...

I'm guessing that if I posted this in the Welcome Forum it would be moved here anyway, so here I am!

But help me out here. What this says is that new people are encouraged to post in the Welcome Forum where they get coddled and respected but then, when it becomes time for them to REALLY learn about what this Forum is about they are ushered into the DEN OF WOLVES!

That means we're basically telling people, c'mon in, relax and enjoy while everyone puts on a good face and then, when you move from the reception room into the kitchen, where the real stuff happens, EXPECT to be treated like poop.

Somehow that sounds like we're setting people up for a fall and sounds a bit two-faced.

We're not. We're just folks doing the best we can (or choose to, anyway).

Warning them from the outset that we can get rowdy is enough. The numbers of people who actually prey on the new guys/gals are in the minority and any discerning individual should be able to pick that up.

Besides, it is a GOOD THING when newbies enter, get raked over the coals and then people come to their defense.

So, I don't quite get it. Maybe you can explain better Susan.
