Flakiness in Ecuadorian Business Culture

BE AWARE that it can be quite common in Ecuadorian culture for people to flake on business meetings or other business engagements. I have had this happen quite a few times and it happens with the American business people here too.

I know some things can be attributed to the "culture" here, but when someone says "You have my word I will call tomorrow", then they do not call, what is their word worth. This type of stuff happens frequently here.

Please understand I have a 1 strike policy when it comes to unexcused flaking and doing business with me, or Middleoftheworld.com.

I believe when you make an arrangement to meet, you need to follow through on the arrangement, CANCEL, or RESCHEDULE that arrangement.
