Spanish immersion school recommendation

I am looking for advice on coming to Ecuador for language immersion.
I've spent countless hours researching on the computer and still haven't been able to narrow down the area or a specific school.
I plan to come in January.
I prefer small town over big city but don't want isolation.
Want to be in one of the warmer areas. (50's low 60s is cold for me)
Want to do home stay.
Thought Montanita might be the place but was turned off with it's description of being a party town.
My thought is to purchase ticket for return in a month, study for at least 2wks (longer if I'm not getting burned out) then do some traveling/sightseeing(and practice Spanish). Open to extend my trip if I'm loving it.
I know this will not make me "fluent" but it will be a good start.
I have often thought about living outside the US. I want to learn Spanish no matter what, but it would be great if I like it enough to make return trips and possibly find a second home.
