Moving to Ecuador without visiting first

My wife and I have been studying Ecuador for some time. We have decided to make the move cold. We would appreciate some help. How do you open a bank account from Florida, in Cuenca? We understand most people use ATM'S but wanted to know how do you arrange direct deposits? Can you do this before you move? I have many other questions but this is a good start. Thanks in advance.
