medical treatment in Cuenca

Hello all. Some may remember me from conversations last spring before I was to come down and learn for myself, as was the strong advice of all, as to whether I would want to move permanently. During the interim, I was involved in a bad motorcycle accident. Prior to that, I was already a disabled veteran.. but capable of getting around just fine. Anyway, on to my question.
I am a chronic pain patient (CPP) and require regual treatment, (mediication) to motivate around like the rest of the world. I expect some prejudices from some, it always seems to be the case for many of us. But I'm used to it, even if it is unfair. So, finallyi am coming down. And I will bring my medications, but it possible that it will.only be 30 days worth. My initial visit is to be three months in Cuenca. So any advice on physician's practices there, or even a suggestion for a particular doctor would be very useful for me. I keep the use of medication to a minumum and I do wish it wasn't necessary at all.. but it is and I have accepted this as just part of my life. There will be some who understand exactly what I mean, and others who do not. All I ask is that no one misundersand my situation for being something that it is not. This is a personal matter for me and one I was hesitant to bring up at all - but if is important for me to find out whatever I can and it looks as if I will just have to sacrifice some privacy if I wish to learn anything on the matter.
