Getting registered on the Foreign Births Register

I am gathering documentation to get registered in the Foreign Births Register. My Grandparents were born in Ireland and I have the documents that link me to them. I moved to Sweden last year and the documents I don't have are the utility bills that are needed to show residency. I have letters from both the Swedish and British Tax offices that have my Swedish address. Will this do?

Hello Tess26,
As long as the two letters are from a government agency and they include your address that you designate on all your paperwork for. FBR , and for dual citizenship ,they will be acceptable as far as the FBR directions ask for . Good Luck !!!!

I am a bit confused by your question - do FBR now require proof of residency? Entitlement to Irish citizenship by ascent was based of proof of ascendancy to Irish grandparent. Where you live shouldn't make any difference.

Hello Muddled, The FBR asks for proof of you address , phone bill , gas bill, cable bill ect. with the name of the person registering on FBR , so they know it is and the address of the person registering, plus confirming where to send the proof of Irish citizenship.
