What is it like to retire in Cadzand?

"Life for a retiree in Cadzand, can be quite peaceful and fulfilling. This small coastal town in the Zeeland province is known for its beautiful beaches, making it a perfect place for those who enjoy seaside living. The pace of life is slower, allowing retirees to enjoy a relaxed lifestyle. There isn't a large expat community in Cadzand due to its small size, but the nearby cities of Bruges and Ghent in Belgium have a more significant international presence. These cities are easily accessible for day trips or short stays, providing opportunities to connect with a diverse range of people. Cultural attractions in and around Cadzand include the Zwin Nature Park, a unique coastal nature reserve that straddles the Dutch-Belgian border. The area is rich in history, with several old churches and windmills that date back to the Middle Ages. The nearby city of Middelburg also offers a wealth of historical and cultural attractions, including the Zeeuws Museum and the Middelburg Abbey. Recreational activities in Cadzand are largely centered around the outdoors. The town's beaches are perfect for long walks, sunbathing, and swimming during the warmer months. Cycling is also a popular activity, with numerous bike paths offering scenic routes through the countryside. Nightlife in Cadzand is relatively quiet, reflecting the town's laid-back atmosphere. There are a few restaurants and cafes where locals and visitors can enjoy a meal or a drink, but the town does not have a bustling nightlife scene. However, the nearby cities of Bruges and Ghent offer a wider range of dining and entertainment options, including bars, clubs, and live music venues. Overall, Cadzand offers a tranquil and relaxed lifestyle for retirees, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and explore local history and culture," explained a retiree in Cadzand.
