"The cost of living in Katwijk is considered to be moderate. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can be quite expensive, while those located outside of the city center are relatively cheaper. The cost of utilities such as electricity, heating, cooling, water, and garbage is also moderate. Groceries in Katwijk can be pricey, with items such as bread, milk, and eggs costing more than in other cities. Eating out at restaurants can also be quite expensive, especially in the city center. However, fast food and street food options are more affordable. Public transportation in Katwijk is efficient but can be costly, especially for daily commuters. Owning a car can also be expensive due to high fuel costs and maintenance expenses. Healthcare in Katwijk is of high quality but comes with a high price tag. However, it is mandatory for all residents to have health insurance, which can offset some of these costs. Overall, while the cost of living in Katwijk can be high compared to other cities in the Netherlands, it offers a high quality of life, beautiful scenery, and a safe and clean environment," remarked one expat in Katwijk.
