An Expat Talks about Retiring in I use public transportation. If we go to another town we hire a driver with a van. Went to Bacolod from San Carlos City, round trip was $60.00 and he stayed with us for the day. Once we hired a taxi to bring us back and had him for the day for other short trips for $65.00. Not sure if you have driven here before, it's kinda a scary experience! In Bacolod I only saw 2 traffic lights. At intersections you have to nudge your way thru the traffic. Enjoy, Philippines

Describe available transportation where you live. Do you need a car? Is there access to safe public transportation?
