guestWhen was this article written? I am curious how current the figures were for rental properties in Angeles City. I am making my first visit there in April 2011, and am considering choosing a location in the Philippines for retirement in a few years.
jimwattI too am looking to retire this year to the philippines. with a philipino wife. Am considering Angeles city because of good avialbilty of Western food etc. I would appeciate other peoples experiences. Are there good medical services and does one need insurance?
Champs82I don't have heath insurance, out of what VA has provided, and this year in June, I turn 65 yo, just recieved my medicare card, will that be enough to cover me, when I move to the Philippines, in 2014. I am rated 80% by VA, and recieve benefits from VA, Retirement pay from the Military, Social security retirement benefits.......How much money will I need to support myself, in the Philippines. I'm planing to buy a house later after 2014.......

guestSounds like you are all well settled in AC... Congrats. I retired from San Diego to my home town in Germany and am doing quite well thanks to the great welfare state attitude of the system. But in the winted I hate to freeze my ass off and I fly to the tropics. Been to Thailand, Bali, Hainan, like it all but hated not to understand the local lingo, the corruption, petty crime ect. Women seemed to all be goddiggers or hookers. Next winter I might stay in PH as I have many contacts via the internet already. I suggested to the women to pay rent to be able to stay in their homes. What's your advice.... PS: And come see me in Germany when it gets too hot in AC. My sofa is always available and I rent my other condo in Bonn by the week. jerry at alkan (at) hush.com
demimarkbenedictKudos. Hi sir. I've read your article and I believe I do have a great property to offer you but it is not in Angeles City. Its near Subic. This property is very perfect for a retirement. You can have views and access to the beach and a great view of the mountain. For leisure you can also play golf in the area, If you are interested please send me a message at my email. [email protected]
jasonkennedy"Most of the people I know rent and few pay more than $150 a month for a somewhat worn but still comfortable American type home with 3 bedrooms and a single bath. People who pay much more than this are really overpaying." Really? Where? I'm having a hard time finding studio or 1 bedroom apartments for less than $300 to $400 per month.
