EXPAT HEALTH INSURANCE RECOMMENDATIONS/COMPLAINTS?

We're two Americans in our early sixties who've been in Paris a year and haven't had to use our Atlas Health Plan with Multinational at all, thank goodness. It is time to renew for the next seven months that we are here.

I have since come across a couple complaints about difficulty getting claims paid by Multinational. Also, one broker says his company discourages people from their plans and IMGs health plans because of difficulty getting reimbursed. Both insurers seem to have the attitude that just living inside a body constitutes a "pre-existing condition," since they've sometimes not readily paid on previously undiagnosed emergencies like gall bladder or appendix crises.

Anyone in this forum or any other country have good or bad experiences with claims with either of these countries? Or have you had good experiences with claims with other countries? We're very healthy, no pre-existing, but we do inhabit human bodies! Thanks.

Oh, and we need temporary coverage during a two-week visit to the US. Or should we just get travel insurance for those weeks?
