The reason why we talk about the negatives is because that is what most foreigners want to know. You can't Google that kind of information. The Philippines is a great place. It's one of the cheapest places in the world to live assuming you have foreign currency coming in every month. If you like warm weather without any cold months (we had 12 inches of snow yesterday here in NY) it's 75-95 degrees F all year round. Everyone who had been to college can speak English and 95% of all the other people can read it if you write it down. Almost all school books are in English. The Philippines has been an Ally of the United States for over 100 years. Almost every Filipino has a relative in the U.S. "People like people like themselves" Filipinos are very friendly to Americans. In general they are friendly to all nationalities. Just friendly people. There are very few unattractive women and hardly any over weight women. Compared to.... It's acceptable in society for a women to have a partner that may be 5-30 years her senior. Family security and taking care of ones family is very important when most people are not rich. Parents would rather have someone an older person who will take care of their daughter than a young good looking stud who is a bum. If you have enjoy tennis, golf or drinking at the bars everything comparably is much cheaper in the Philippines. A weekly massage, manicure or pedicure are all possible with a normal budget. If you like the beach, there are plenty of beaches, if you like mountains there are those also. All kinds of food are available in the Philippines. If you want to eat health fresh fruit and vegetables are available everywhere. If you are on a budget and or planning to retire why would you want to go anywhere else???
