I must say that my experiences here have led me to think about moving. While I have read many a post where people are criticized about saying things about the Philippines this place is just plain awful. I guess the final straw occurred when I was scheduled to fed 150 people on Olango Island. With my own money and my last post dealt with trying to get my disability reinstated ( Thank you again CAteacher) When it was I rescheduled the event. It was held at the Barangays captains house. I was reassured by that. Yeah, right,
The woman, who I had known a year plus when I was doing this here from the United States STOLE the money. with her 5 classmates. 7000php and wanted 3000 more.
I met with police twice. Showed them her text messages admitting her guilt. In writing which the police and mayors office confirmed They concurred. NOTHING. Met with the Vice Mayors office. Nothing. They agreed with all but would do nothing. Prior to that one woman tried to extort 12,000 php for taking care of me ( I am blind etc.) when she worked a full time job. How do you do that? And prior to her the first woman who lived with me here was seeing someone else while living with me and spent my money like a drunken sailor. A really drunk sailor especially with those false wedding plans
Sure, we all make choices. And I did but If a drove a friend to a bank to withdraw funds and he robbed the bank am I responsible. No!!! So., should it be Bali, Vietnam or.... Others have ruled out Thailand and Indonesia. I am giving it through the end of the year and then move on in January. I am still feeding many malnourished children with a woman who works for the City Health Dept. and her husband is a cop so maybe this will happen correctly. That is December and Leyte in November with a woman I know I can trust. It is unbelievable here and I came here with high hopes, a big heart and great respect for the people here especially the women who do many things to assist heir families with no thanks or appreciation. Those beliefs have completely eroded. Don't even get me started on the men here.. Any advice on a move would be appreciated . It will not be the U.S,Thanks, Art
