Boots on the Ground ; palawan .

my basic unpolished plans at this time are .
exploring the northern 1/2 of palawan . the extended time frame would be 6-8 months to get a true
feel for living there permanently .
other than the planes ,carry on i would have one large luggage , within it would be two 50cal ammo
box's retro fitted here in the usa , to be used as saddle bags . on a yamaha 125g ? maybe the readership here would advise me to buy a used suzuki carry mini truck , safer - aircon - dryer [ rains ] .
but i would need the yamaha,,fast [within a week ] or so , to have basic transportation ,, to find a suzuki . from what ive seen a used ybr is apx $800usd a used/good suzuki apx $4,500usd .
i have traveled palawans provinces before , in a rented really beat up mitsubishi pickup ., but for only 3 weeks . i stayed at smaller resorts , nothing fancy , big gecko's in the c,r, bigger roaches ,,,haaa .
i would be in no rush at all , going to different small/tiny towns , villages . stay a day or a month if i like the area and pinays-pinoys i meet . i feel the biggest expense would be housing ,, not sure how to keep it low ? ! ..
next would be food,,im fine with chicken w/rice , i paid apx $1.85usd it was all you could eat [ rice ] . i dont need an american diet, that would cost more than here .
no real plan on where to go,,i feel its best , the starting point of course would be PP . arborlan would be about as far south as i would be interested in , slow traveling down that way , ruff roads,
funky bridges . nara is a bit farther south , i passed threw it ,,didnt feel welcoming . dont think i need to review it . i liked it better north of PP,
the roads were better , not great but alot better and faster to get back to PP . towns/villages i want to see -spend time at are ,roxas, port barton , tatay ,as well as many much smaller points on the map . in two years i will be 62 ,
taking my SS . so i have some time , before this adventure .
my budget may be apx $800 per month , this dose not include the cost of a bike or a truck , but would include the fuel , i would not be driving far every day .
ready for your advice and thoughts / cautions .
what should i bring along ?
as of now i want my metric socket's and wrenches , clothing ,, not alot , but two pair of sneekers ,
hmm 3 pairs of good shorts ,flip flops are cheep there .
made in usa ,can opener ! haaa yep .
thanks in advance ;
