The New Moderator

Hi guys. A few weeks back I sent a request to the "contact us" link at the bottom of our pages. I asked the Supervisor to look into the recent conversations that had been occurring. I felt that the level of name calling and racial slurs had grown unacceptable. As one of you recently noted, the prime offender was removed as were several of the most egregious posts. Also, I was asked to become the site's moderator. I thought the offer over for a week and decided to accept. I think that somebody who is on the site regularly should be willing to do the job. I have no need to act like a 'cop', I just want to see our site serve our members well and not be drawn off into long tirades of name calling, political tirades or religious debates. You already know most of the rules. Those are just sensible perimeters that allow the site to do what it was designed to do, help expats and inquirers help each other. I will try to greet newcomers by private message when they join us and do any 'reminding' of the rules that are needed by the same method. You will note that my name now appears at the bottom of the Forum Topics page. Let's have a good time and be helpful to one another.
